Last Year, I joined a studio, Practice Yoga, and I consider it the best thing I did for myself in 2025.
Around the time I joined, I was down in the dumps. I was feeling like I needed to find something that would get me out of bed (but not TOO early) on my Saturday mornings and help me feel like I was doing something positive for my overall health. The studio I found has classes on Saturdays at 10AM, which worked out perfectly. I’ve been attending since May, and I’ve only missed a handful of Saturdays, mainly due work-related events.
The studio is aptly named.
Yoga is truly a practice. Many of the poses, traditionally known as Asanas, aren’t technically difficult, but it takes grace and patience to do them properly, especially when you focus on proper breathing technique (traditionally Pranayama). The benefits have been so worth it, though. I’ve found I experience:
- Greater flexibility & balance
- Increased strength, especially in my arms and core
- Less overall stress
- Easier time staying calm & peaceful
I’d also been experiencing an elbow injury for about two years, “Tennis Elbow,” as it’s most often called, and it has essentially healed slowly over the past few months. At first, it just didn’t bother me as much, but now I don’t even feel the soreness that surrounded the outer bone at all. What a bonus! I’d heard strengthening the area could help, but it’s really cool to see how committing to this practice has added up to small, physical wins. Many of these benefits are also supported by science, as this article suggests.
If you’ve ever considered practicing Yoga, I would recommend giving it a try. There are a lot of different studios and classes out there, including hot yoga (Room heated to about 105 degrees, not for me), restorative yoga (which uses props and poses to achieve deep relaxation), and Hatha yoga (a more general term for physical yoga, where poses are most often slower-paced). You can even do yoga with goats, for goodness sake!

This article breaks down some additional types and suggests who may benefit from them.
If you’ve been practicing Yoga, drop me a line! I’d love to hear how it has helped you. And if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. Until next time 😊
